About the Author
Kate Gold is a Chinese Herbalist and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Oriental Medicine at the Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH), formerly Tai Sophia. She is also a State of Maryland Licensed, Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200). Her yoga experience is featured in the internationally-acclaimed, award-winning yoga book "You Don't Have to Stand on Your Head: Creating an Inspired Life Through Yoga" by Dee Gold. Kate teaches yoga at Inner Reaches Yoga and Health in Gaithersburg, MD. She also teaches Anatomy and Physiology for the Inner Reaches Yoga Teacher Training Program. Kate graduated with a BA from Vassar College in Earth Science and Society, where she first began learning Herbal Medicine at the Poughkeepsie Farm Project. She graduated from the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) after completing a wilderness semester in the Southwest backpacking, rock climbing, caving, canoeing and training in Wilderness Medicine. Using her knowledge of Geology and Chinese Herbal Medicine, Kate has created a line of Chinese Medicinal Gemstone Jewelry.
